What More UK Continues Expansion with 30th Moulding Machine from BMB
What More UK Ltd, one of the UK’s largest manufacturers of household products and storage items, is pleased to announce its expansion continues with the purchase of its 30th injection moulding machine from BMB SpA – an 1150-tonne dual injection hybrid.
Established in 1999 in the North West of England, What More UK has grown to become the UK’s leading manufacturer of plastic housewares. Its British-made products include household storage, bakeware, DIY toolboxes, organisers, garden pots, pet care, food storage and wooden brushes, all under the brand name Wham®.
As a responsible and forward-thinking manufacturer, What More has invested millions of pounds over the years to ensure its manufacturing operation is highly productive, energy-efficient and sustainable.
The company installed its first BMB machine over four years ago, and quickly realised the advantage of enhanced performance and, more importantly, drastically reduced electrical consumption.
Continuing in its pursuit of efficient and high-performance machinery, What More UK recently purchased a new injection moulding machine from BMB SpA, the 30th machine purchased from the Italian machinery manufacturer in just four years. The 1150-tonne eKW Hybrid machine combines the advantages of fast cycling machinery with electric technology, resulting in a machine with the highest performance, speed and robustness, whilst maintaining low power consumption.
Michael Craig, BMB’s Area Sales Manager for the UK and Ireland, comments:
“We’re delighted to have delivered this landmark machine to a much-valued customer; one of the UK’s leading plastic manufacturing companies, seeking to combine top-tier performance with impressive sustainable credentials.
“The delivery comes at a good time for BMB UK, with our UK expansion mirroring that of our customer. The ongoing relationship with customers like What More UK provides the perfect compliment to BMB’s expansion in the UK, as we recently completed a site move to a larger location in Birmingham. This includes the hiring of new office staff to support our sales and service operations, and the appointment of an experienced service engineer, John Busby, to better support our customers countrywide from our new central location.”
