VEKA Recycling Announced as National Recycling Awards Finalist
VEKA Recycling is delighted to have been shortlisted as a finalist in the ‘Recycling Facility of the Year’ category in the National Recycling Awards 2021. Winners will be announced at an awards ceremony at the London Hilton in December.
The MRW National Recycling Awards are the most prestigious awards in the recycling and resource management sector, with winning projects and teams rightly recognised for their achievements within the industry and further along the supply chain. The awards seek to recognise and reward excellence and inspire others for the advancement of the sector.
VEKA Recycling has been recognised for its new, state-of-the-art recycling facility in Wellingborough, which was completed after a two-year build in December 2020. The company is particularly pleased to have reached the final after its first attempt at the awards.
The organisers say the award will be given to a ‘waste and/or recycling facility that demonstrates best practice through innovation and/or improved management.’ The winner will be announced at a ceremony held on December 10 at the London Hilton on Park Lane.
“We are obviously delighted to receive this news,” says VEKA Recycling’s Managing Director Simon Scholes. “Our team has worked exceptionally hard to complete our new plant, also battling against the pandemic to become fully operational on schedule. To become a finalist at the National Recycling Awards means that we have been judged by recycling professionals that fully appreciate our achievements, so this is a tremendous accolade even to get this far.”
