The EcoPower Range from Wittmann: Energy Saving, Clean, Compact.

Wittmann’s K Show trade fair highlight was the DC Concept EcoPower injection moulding machine (IMM) – operating with the direct current generated from sources of renewable energy: solar, wind and water power.

And while a Wittmann solar-powered IMM grabbed the headlines at K 2022, EcoPower innovation was also present elsewhere at the show; an EcoPower110/350 machine, at the VDMA Circular Economy Forum, producing a bio building block made of wood and PP post-use recyclate showcasing Wittmann’s new B8X control system and using an 8-cavity mould supplied by Bioblo, Austria.

When it comes to energy efficiency and environmental plastics processing, Wittmann’s EcoPower fully ‘walks the talk.’

When Wittmann purchased Battenfeld back in April 2008, the company’s strategic intent was clear; to create the most ergonomic and energy-efficient IMMs the market had yet seen. The EcoPower was then one of the first such models out of the gate to meet those criteria, and the machine has gained in popularity and market share since.

Today’s beltless EcoPower scores highly with a compact injection unit and the clean design of its clamping unit, featuring a highly efficient direct drive.

The braking energy of the drives is normally returned to the power supply network by an elaborate process. However, the engineers on the EcoPower have used  F1 racing technology to ensure all the energy is completely utilised within the machine. This then provides the necessary voltage for the control system and for barrel heating. Thus, these machines are extremely energy-efficient and indeed provide a plastics processing industry benchmark with regards to their extremely low energy consumption.

Another advantage of EcoPower is its user-friendly design. In developing this machine series, special emphasis was placed in particular on the small footprint and the compact integration of all functions.

Available in Standard, All-Electric, Combimould and Medical variants, the EcoPower range really does offer moulders a complete package – flexible to suit any customer needs and all with communication Wittmann 4.0 for “Plug & Produce” connectivity of Wittmann peripherals as standard.
