Summit Defence Shields Receive Parliamentary Stamp of Approval

Local Tamworth MP, Christopher Pincher, recently visited Summit Systems’ premises to view the production of Summit’s unique protective screens, manufactured to aid the battle against Coronavirus. Mr Pincher MP hailed the product as ‘a fantastic example of clever innovation’ during his visit.

Summit Defence Shields are flexible, fit on any desk or workplace and are effective in the reduction of transmission of airborne particles. The screens offer increased levels of safety and reduce anxiety by introducing a physical barrier in between you and others, preventing the spread of germs, and offering protection for offices, receptions, restaurants, schools, and universities.

Unlike other products on the market, Summit Systems‘ range of screens are made from a flexible plastic film, reducing lead times as stocks of clear rigid plastic are depleted, and also enabling the screens to be highly configurable. The flexible nature of the screen coupled with the products clever magnetic attachment mechanism enables the screens to be used in a wide variety of settings, without the need for tools.

Even as a local company, Summit has been supplying schools and NHS trusts up and down the country and display a great example of innovation and development in the face of an unprecedented crisis.

Managing Director, Mike Jordan (pictured, right) and his team welcomed Mr Pincher (pictured, left) and ran through the company’s plans for further expansion as orders have increased week on week. The MP then had a tour of the assembly line and ran through ways he wants to help Summit boost business.

 “I will do what I can to show this product to my Government colleagues, to help get a Tamworth business more of a profile especially as their product will be used in the prevention of COVID-19 transmission.”
