The Scottish Plastics & Rubber Association (SPRA) is proud to announce an informative and interactive event titled ‘Guide to Injection Moulding for Non-Polymer People.’ The event will take place at the impressive National Manufacturing Institute Scotland (NMIS) on Friday, 19th July, from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM. This event is free to attend and aims to demystify the injection moulding process for individuals with little to no background in polymers.

The event is in collaboration with Sumitomo (SHI) Demag, Hardie Polymers, McLaren Plastics, and the Centre for Engineering Education & Development (CeeD).

Participants will be treated to live demonstrations, including a showcase of Sumitomo (SHI) Demag’s all-electric injection moulding machine. This state-of-the-art equipment will be in action, transforming granules of polymer into finished parts, offering attendees a unique, hands-on understanding of the manufacturing process from product design to final production.

In addition to live demonstrations, the event will feature expert insights from leading professionals in the industry. Attendees will have the opportunity to engage with representatives from top toolmakers, injection moulders, and polymer suppliers. These interactions will provide a comprehensive overview of the injection moulding process and its applications in various industries.

Supporting the event, PlastikCity will also be exhibiting, providing further resources and networking opportunities for attendees.

Adding to the excitement, Sumitomo (SHI) Demag will be presenting their #NextStopProductivity roadshow at NMIS on the day before the event. This roadshow will highlight their all-electric IntElect machine, and the digital solutions designed to enhance productivity, offering a preview of the cutting-edge technology that will be demonstrated during the main event.

To secure a place at this not-to-be-missed event, interested individuals should email info@spra.org.uk. Spaces are limited, so please get in touch as soon as possible.
