Rocal Extrusions Introduce RocFoam

Rocal Extrusions are proud to introduce an innovative new product that has been in development for many years – RocFoam.

A vinyl-based cellular thermoplastic extrusion that has been used in Rocal’s products for the last three years, it is primarily used as a timber alternative, offering excellent timber-like qualities.

While timber is a popular material to use, the new RocFoam product provides all the benefits of timber, removing many of its disadvantages, improving longevity and thermal efficiency.

Features & Applications of RocFoam

RocFoam is made to measure, which means each project receives a bespoke, custom-made product manufactured to your exact requirements. It is available in a range of sizes up to 120mm.

You can get RocFoam to fill any length, making its use in projects and developments easier and faster. With each order benefitting from complete customisation, you are certain to meet the requirements of any project.

Rocal Extrusions want to ensure your project runs as smoothly as possible, which is why they wanted to develop a product which can be used for any number of purposes. It is suitable for developments that call for weather resistance and low maintenance.

The main application for their RocFoam product lies within the leisure home industry. Primarily used among caravan tourers, it is the perfect solution for those looking to stop water ingress, which can cause rotting and warping.

Manufacturers of high-end caravans use RocFoam as a solution to maintain a high standard of product, as well as high levels of satisfaction amongst their customer base.

This versatile new product is also perfect for using inside frames within the caravans and motorhomes, and with a good screw-fixing, it far outweighs the benefits of timber.

Garden buildings are another product that benefits significantly from RocFoam, keeping the structure dry and stable during the winter months as well as increasing durability.

Rocal Extrusions understand the importance of using high-performance materials for each project and development you carry out. RocFoam is one of their more rigid extrusions and is extruded with thermal properties, flame retardancy, impact strength, as well as UV and chemical resistance. Therefore, it is the perfect material for use in window sills, bases of doors and conservatory roofs.

Places that are susceptible to water ingress are also sure to benefit from this high-performance material, ensuring the safeguarding of all buildings. Featuring no knots and a lightweight frame.

The unique properties found in RocFoam mean it won’t rot, warp or discolour over time, providing you with a long-lasting product. Including this, you will benefit from a product that offers an excellent surface for bonding, making it perfect for installations.

This makes it ideal for use in kitchens and bathrooms, or any project where the product will be exposed to moisture. Unlike timber, RocFoam will not swell or warp out of shape when in contact with water or moisture.

RocFoam is available in two different finishes – planed and non-planed – making it great for moulding into window sills, doors and conservatory roofs. You can choose from a range of colours to meet your design needs.

RocFoam can be made to any length, perfect for use with decking or fencing, creating a long-lasting, sturdy barrier. It also gives off less dust than timber when cutting to the specified shape and size, saving you time and money in waste, cleaning and hazardous dust.

RocFoam frames can be manufactured to an SG of between 0.4 and 0.7, making it Rocal’s most lightweight product to date. Including this, it is resistant to changes in temperature, making them suitable for indoor and outdoor use.
