Melba Swintex Awarded Prestigious Queen’s Award

Melba Swintex is delighted to announce they have been awarded a Queen’s Award for Enterprise: International Trade 2019. This fantastic achievement reflects the hard work and commitment Melba Swintex have been making within the traffic management sector.

The Queen’s Awards for Enterprise are the most prestigious business awards in the UK. The awards were first established in 1965, and since then over 7000 companies have achieved a Queen’s Award. The awards celebrate the success of exciting and innovative businesses which are leading the way with pioneering products or services, delivering impressive social mobility programmes or showing their commitment to excellent sustainable development practices.

Melba Swintex has delivered a number of industry-first products that have gone on to become the norm in the traffic management sector. Some of these include the first two-piece road cone, a one-piece 2-metre pedestrian Barrier, and a temporary traffic sign collection manufactured from 100% recycled materials. As well as this, 80% of the current product range is manufactured from recycled materials, with the entire range being 100% recyclable.

The company initially exported to trusted distributors within western Europe, but over recent years have vastly expanded its customer database to include well over 50 countries stretching from Iceland to Australia. Through focussing on tailor-made solutions, to individual customers’ and country’s needs, the range of traffic products has grown at an astonishing rate, which in turn has resulted in the doubling of export sales over a four-year timeframe.

A spokesman for Melba Swintex said: “We would like to thank our loyal customers, as without their support this achievement would not have been possible. We value each and every relationship from old and new and have great pride in the strong relationships that have been made. We see this as a sign that things are moving into the right direction, and we hope our customers continue this journey with us.”
