LATI officially joins the elite of Italian companies recognised as a Historical Brand of National Interest. This certification rewards the production continuity and historical value of businesses that are symbols of Made in Italy. This recognition comes in a special year: its 80th anniversary.

“This recognition is a tribute to the journey that LATI has built over the years, combining innovation, sustainability, and attention to people. We are proud to be part of Italy’s industrial history and will continue to work towards an even more ambitious future,” says Michela Conterno, CEO of LATI.

Italian genius in the formulation of plastics

Founded in 1945 by Cosimo Conterno, LATI foresaw the future with a pioneering vision of the circular economy: transforming war leftovers from World War II into new resources by recycling materials. An innovative insight that began a long history of research, development, and sustainability.

LATI has always been synonymous with excellence in the high-performance thermoplastic compound sector. Just like in cooking, LATI’s technicians create unique recipes, combining different ingredients to produce materials with extraordinary properties: flame-retardant, thermally conductive, reinforced, self-lubricating, and much more.

These materials then become an integral part of devices and components that are crucial in various strategic sectors, such as:

  • Electrical and electronics – switches that resist short circuits
  • Automotive – components as robust as metal but lighter
  • Home appliances – highly performing parts for safety and reliability

LATI’s history goes hand in hand with the history of plastics, starting with nylon. The company was a pioneer in using FEM simulation and introducing glass fibres into polymers, anticipating market developments. Its focus on quality led the company to become the first in Italy to obtain the UNI EN ISO 9001 certification.

People, sustainability, and social responsibility: the secret to LATI’s success

Like every great story, LATI’s story is made of challenges, changes, and brave choices. In the most difficult times, the company has always invested in people, sustainability, and social responsibility. A commitment that has led to tangible results:

  • Very low turnover of employees and an excellent work environment, recognised by the Great Place to Work certification
  • Certified gender equality and female leadership with Michela Conterno, CEO, and her sister Livia Conterno, CEO of Corporate Social Affairs
  • EcoVadis Platinum Medal, the highest recognition for corporate sustainability practices

Historical Brand: a recognition dedicated to people

Entering the Register of Historical Brands of National Interest means being recognised as companies that have shaped Italy’s industrial history. LATI dedicates this achievement to those who made its success possible: its people, customers, and partners, who, over the past eighty years, have contributed to building a solid, innovative company with a forward-looking vision.
Eighty years of history, eighty years of innovation, eighty years of people. A milestone that is only the beginning of a new phase of growth always focused on quality, technology, and sustainability.
