Fontijne Presses Expand to New, Sustainable Workspace

Fontijne Presses, a leading manufacturer of laboratory platen presses, has announced its relocation to a new office and manufacturing facility in Rotterdam. The move, effective March 2023, comes after the company’s remarkable growth over the past few years, which has resulted in a need for a larger and more modern workspace.

The new facility is three times larger than the previous workspace in Delft, providing the company with ample space to accommodate its accelerated growth.

The decision to move to a new facility was made after carefully considering the company’s needs and the growing demand for high-quality, reliable laboratory presses. Fontijne Presses has outgrown its current workspace, and the new location matches the company’s ambitions and plans for further growth. The larger building will provide additional space for the engineering and production teams to collaborate, allowing them to build and innovate more efficiently and sustainably.

Jeroen Moerman, Managing Director at Fontijne Presses, commented on the move, stating, “We’ve been looking at this move for some time now. We wanted the practical additional space of a larger building to build our presses. The new building gives us some great collaborative spaces between our engineering and production teams, which will greatly impact our projects.”

Fontijne Presses’ commitment to sustainability is reflected in their decision to purchase wind energy from a Dutch wind farm through Eneco HollandseWind®, which has received an Eco-label from SMK (Stichting Milieukeur). This move towards renewable energy is a conscious effort to reduce their carbon footprint and contribute to more sustainable energy production in the Netherlands. Fontijne Presses’ decision to use renewable energy is a step towards building a more sustainable and environmentally conscious business.

The move to the new workspace represents a significant milestone for the company and is a statement of where it is heading as a business. The larger space accommodates the growing team and enables Fontijne Presses to hire additional employees to continue providing the best laboratory platen presses to its global clients.

The new facility in Rotterdam includes a modern and spacious production facility and a demo room where customers can observe live demonstrations of different lab presses. The move also reflects the company’s highly specialised team, and their culture of 100% focus and dedication to laboratory platen presses.
