Faulkner Moulds’ Technical Investment Almost Eliminates Fitting
Faulkner Moulds has continued to invest to improve the service it provides to its customers. The company’s most recent acquisition is a new high-speed vertical 5-axis graphite and hard metal machining centre.
This state-of-the-art machine enables automation of electrode manufacturing and die face finish machining, achieving a repeatable accuracy of 2 micron.
Matching this with their high-end spark erosion and measurement technology, Faulkner Moulds has almost eliminated the fitting time needed at the end of each tooling project.
The Yorkshire-based toolmaker has gone from strength to strength, winning Toolmaker of the Year at the 2016 Plastics Industry Awards for what the judges called, “exemplary toolmaking”, and being shortlisted for it again in 2017.
The company specialises in complex product and tool design and manufacture, using cost-effective Design for Manufacture principles. Faulkner Moulds was also shortlisted in 2017 for Industrial Product Design of the Year, for the WAR NRV – a world-first, which won its inventor a variety of awards.
Faulkner Moulds not only invests in the best machinery and software, but also invests time in developing the skills of the company’s growing team. In the company’s most recent employee satisfaction survey, 100% of Faulkner Moulds’ employees ‘strongly agreed’ with many statements, such as, “I am provided with opportunities to train, learn and develop”; “I have all the tools and equipment I need to do my job properly”, and “I believe the team and the company produces high quality work we can be proud of”.
