Faulkner Moulds Celebrate ‘Great Contribution’ of Apprentices
During National Apprenticeship Week 2020, Faulkner Moulds is celebrating the great contribution made by each of its Apprentices to serving its customers, and is launching the search for its next Apprentice.
Three-times winner of the prestigious Plastics Industry Award for ‘Toolmaker of the Year’ in 2019, 2018 and 2016, Yorkshire-based Faulkner Moulds focuses on training and developing its employees to bring out the best in them.
Faulkner Moulds’ Apprentice, Sam, commented, “At Faulkner Moulds, we are trained in many skills and to operate all the machines. I feel like the engineering equivalent of a swiss army knife! It feels great looking at a complex design, knowing I have the skills to operate several different machines to bring that design to life”.
Managing Director, Duncan Faulkner said, “The 2019 award-win was particularly meaningful to us as it is very much the team’s, including our Apprentices’, achievement. The team handled the entire twin-shot medical project successfully, with some general direction from me. It shows our focus on training our Apprentices, and developing and empowering our whole team, is really paying off”.
In recent years, two of Faulkner Moulds’ Apprentices have been shortlisted for the UK plastics industry Apprentice of the Year.
Sam added, “Beginning my career with Faulkner Moulds is the best decision I have ever made…I feel part of something special and appreciated”.
