Coral Mouldings Achieve AA Grade Packaging Accreditation for Second Consecutive Year
Coral Products Mouldings Ltd have again conformed to the British Retail Consortium (BRC) Standard Global Packaging and Packaging Material Issue 5.
BRC Global Standards is a leading brand and consumer protection organisation, used by over 26,000 certificated suppliers over 130 countries. They provide a certification issued through a global network of accredited certification bodies.
BRC Global Standards’ guarantee the standardisation of quality, safety and operational criteria and ensure that manufacturers fulfil their legal obligations and provide protection for the end consumer. This is now often a fundamental requirement of leading retailers, manufacturers and food service organisations.
2016 saw Coral achieve an “AA” grade, this has been achieved again in 2017. This technical review process is always under review, so standards need to be maintained consistently.
The improvements to the Quality System and the implementation of 5S Lean Manufacturing processes to the BRC room have taken Coral’s plant to a new level, ensuring the highest hygiene standards for their customers, as well as improving the work environment for their employees.

Coral Products Mouldings Ltd is part of the Coral Products PLC Group and is a manufacturer and distributor of plastic injection, extruded and blow moulded products into a diverse range of sectors including food packaging, personal care, household and automotive.
Initially the company focused on serving the VHS market with a range of video cassette cases which was later complemented by the production of plastic housewares manufactured for supermarkets’ own label ranges. In 1995 the company commenced production of CD cases and in 2000 DVD cases.
In recent years media packaging has been in decline due primarily to weak demand as a result of an increase in media downloading. In response to this decline, Coral has sought to diversify its product portfolio and in 2009 it launched a range of solutions for domestic recycled waste collection in the form of kerbside recycling boxes, food waste caddies and associated accessories. The Company has also built up a good reputation as a trade moulder working with its customers for solutions and offering a 24 hour 5 days a week production service, with scope for 7 days if needed.
In 2014 the company purchased the plant and machinery from Niemen Packaging Limited, a specialised in injection and extrusion blow moulding and in 2017 the assets of ICM (Industrial & Commercial Mouldings) limited, specialists in the production of bespoke high-quality injection moulded parts for the automotive industry.
