ColourMaster – Sustainability in Every Shade

Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

At Colourmaster, they believe in colouring the world while preserving it for future generations.  That’s why sustainability is at the core of everything they do. Their masterbatch formulations are designed with eco-friendly principles in mind, using non-toxic pigments and minimising waste throughout the production process.

Together, with the BioSphere plastic additive, plastic manufacturers can make their plastic products biodegradable. Colourmaster has just revamped its website to include a new explanatory video from BioSphere.

The additive only makes up about 1% of the finished product and requires minimal changes to the manufacturing process.

When utilised to its full capacity, the BioSphere additive creates a perfect circle of renewable energy.

Here are some of BioSphere’s top features:

  • BioSphere can be used in any normal plastic material.
  • Plastics with BioSphere additive continue to be recyclable.
  • Products still have a normal shelf life and can be used in day-to-day life without losing their normal properties.
  • Discarded plastics will be broken down much faster than similar plastic without the additive, leaving only water, biomass, and carbon dioxide – molecules that naturally occur during biodegradation of all organic materials.
  • Plastics containing BioSphere do not leave any microplastics behind when they biodegrade.

Eddie Thurloway, Sales & Business Development Manager at Colourmaster NIP Ltd, said Plastics with BioSphere added offer a great solution for sustainability. They can be recycled normally, but will biodegrade quickly should they eventually end up in landfill.”

Eddie has been in the plastics industry for 39 years. With decades of industry experience and a passion for perfection their team is dedicated to unleashing the full spectrum of possibilities with their colour masterbatch solutions whilst keeping sustainability at the forefront.

They will be exhibiting at Plastics Live, 12-13 June 2024, Visit Eddie and Colourmaster at stand J52 on the PlastikCity pavilion to find out more.
