Colourmaster NIP Welcome New Sales and Business Development Manager
Clariant colour masterbatch specialist and small lot plastic raw material distributor, Colourmaster NIP Ltd are delighted to announce that Eddie Thurloway has recently joined the company as Sales and Business Development Manager.
Having gained more than 30 years’ experience in the plastics industry, the majority having been spent in technical sales roles in raw materials and more recently in the injection moulding sector, Eddie will strengthening an already knowledgeable and experienced team at Colourmaster NIP.
Eddie’s experience in raw materials has been focused primarily in the engineering and high-performance sectors, but he also has excellent knowledge of plastics in general, and more recently has worked in the injection moulding sector in business development/project management. In this role he worked with customers on all aspects of new project development to enable as smooth as possible an introduction of new plastic products, being involved from initial conception right through to manufacture where he gained a reputation for offering sound advice on, such as, correct material selection, part design and tooling.
Colourmaster NIP has undergone several changes in recent years following the passing of its’ founder Eddie Maker in 2014 and Hilary McCarthy, his daughter, taking over the running of the business.
A major decision was to move from working as 2 separate companies, Colourmaster (with more than 25 years history in colour masterbatches) and Northern Industrial Plastics (with 40 years plus in the sale of plastic raw materials), to become a single entity in 2017. Since then the company has consolidated its position in the plastics market and invested heavily in its facilities. The largest investment having been in the buildings, warehouse and its surrounds which have had a complete overhaul over the last 2 years, helping the company become a much more efficient organisation.
Results for the first year of trading as an amalgamated company were very good and the prospects for 2018 are looking bright following excellent January sales and a good forward order book.
Eddie’s appointment will enable Colourmaster NIP to both grow their current colour masterbatch and plastics business and target growth in new areas, whilst still maintaining the excellent service it is known for.
