Broadway Wishes Fond Farewell to Nick Burrows

Suffolk-based plastic materials manufacturer Broadway wished a fond farewell to long-serving staff member Nick Burrows last week, who retired after over eighteen years with the company.

In August, staff at masterbatch and additives specialist Broadway celebrated the retirement and wished a fond farewell to a dedicated member of its team.

Nick Burrows is one of several staff members who have worked at Broadway for many years, and the Broadway team is sad to see him depart. Nick started working with Broadway in January 2004, leaving in a typically understated fashion for his well-earned retirement.

Whilst Nick didn’t want a lot of fuss about his departure, he left with some gifts and a card full of heartfelt messages from his colleagues.

Broadway Managing Director and Founder, Joe Maynard, paid tribute to Nick’s contribution to the company:

“Nick started working with us over 18 years ago at our original site at Blyth Road, Halesworth. We had fewer than 20 staff at that time. Nick has seen the company grow from those early days, moving to bigger premises twice in the process. He completed his training and, for most of his time, worked as a technician on double-day shifts.

“More recently, he moved on to running our dedicated sample line. Nick always maintained a calm demeanour and would take everything in his stride. He’s been a pleasure to work with, and I wish him all the best in his retirement.”

Laboratory Supervisor David Andrews added:

“I’ve worked with Nick for over 16 years at Broadway, and he hasn’t changed at all. He’s always been a joy to work with. He expertly ran hundreds of samples for us after becoming a vital part of the lab team a couple of years ago. On behalf of everyone in our technical team, I’d like to wish him well for his retirement and thank him for all his hard work.”

Over the years, Nick has been a vital member of the Broadway team, and loyal and hardworking staff such as Nick are valuable assets to any company. Although he didn’t want much of a fuss, Nick, people like you are the backbone of our manufacturing sector, so thank you, and enjoy your retirement!
