After over four and a half decades at the helm of Hampshire-based BEC Group, managing director Geoff Elvy has appointed three directors from existing management to the board. Mike Tharme, Paul Holland, and Katie Reed will work with Geoff to ensure the continued success of the business into the future.
Over 46 years of successful tooling, moulding, and filter production has firmly established BEC’s reputation as a leading plastic injection moulding company in the South. Key to maintaining this comfortable position in the future is a growing number of hi-tech and filtration projects, in addition to high-volume repeat work from valued customers in the UK, USA, and EU in the pipeline.
In 2024 and beyond, the board will work closely together to preserve BEC’s legacy as a reliable manufacturer and employer; many members of staff have been with the company for over a decade.
The trio will take up the following positions:
- Mike Tharme, Engineering Director has clocked up 29 years as a toolmaker at BEC; running a busy toolroom and managing design, tooling, and quotations for new tooling.
- Paul Holland, Technical Director has been with BEC from time immemorial – estimated to be around forty years. Paul oversees quality assurance, production, filtration enquiries and quotations.
- Katie Reed, Commercial Director came on board as the marketing manager for BEC in 2021. Katie will continue to manage the Marketing Department, as well as the Financial and business administration.
Geoff Elvy, Managing Director commented “Appointing the three new directors to our board will safeguard the future of the company, and all that we have worked so hard to build over many years. I am confident that between us we will continue to steer the company in the right direction whilst providing a great service for our valued customers.”
