Customers, partners, Arburg – the world of plastics was full of enthusiasm for the Technology Days 2025. Around 4,000 customers from 44 nations visited Lossburg from 19th to 21st March to experience Arburg as a strong solution partner and trendsetter in the plastics industry and also as a leading company in terms of sustainability and digitalisation. Visitors received the right answers to future-relevant topics at arburgSOLUTIONworld, which covers all the issues facing injection moulding companies both now and in the future. More than 40 machine exhibits from the fields of injection moulding, turnkey and additive manufacturing were also on display.
“The Technology Days 2025 exceeded our positive expectations and were a great success,” summarised Juliane Hehl, Managing Partner Global Marketing and Business Development at Arburg. “The level of interest in our products and services was extremely high. Our customers and partners were consistently enthusiastic and appreciated the transfer of expertise as well as the personal discussions with experts. We sensed a real spirit of optimism.”
Dr Christoph Schumacher, Vice President of Global Marketing, added: “The Technology Days 2025 and the excellent response to our comprehensive arburgSOLUTIONworld were a first-class start to the all-important K trade fair year. We will now utilise this momentum and intensively support our customers with our products, services and expertise to stay ahead of the competition.”
arburgSOLUTIONworld: Viable solution expertise
In his exciting keynote speech “arburgSOLUTIONworld – added values for robust production”, Tobias Baur, Managing Director of Sales and After Sales, provided an overview and impetus on how Arburg is achieving future-proof development with and for its customers and meeting the market’s challenges with a high level of innovative strength, expertise and solution competence. The arburgSOLUTIONworld exhibition area taught visitors, in a very practical way, which tools would help them to increase efficiency and reduce costs in their operations.
On trend: Digitalisation
The experts gave an impressive demonstration of how digital networking with the Arburg ALS host computer system and the arburgXworld customer portal can sustainably increase efficiency and cost-effectiveness in production and effectively counteract the problem of the shortage of skilled labour. This was also made clear by injection moulding exhibits in which intelligent pilot and assistance functions were implemented in the Gestica control system, e.g. to save energy, increase part quality or actively support the machine operator. The “ask ARBURG” customer portal app, which contains Arburg’s bundled injection moulding knowledge and can, thanks to AI, answer specific questions about machines and processes, was also particularly well received.
Tremendous interest in new products
The latest Arburg products were prominently displayed and met with tremendous interest among the visitors:
- The electric Allrounder 720 E Golden Electric with a clamping force of 2,800 kN impresses with its slim design and attractive price. It is suitable for almost every industry and is particularly interesting for technical injection moulding. The machine offers high component quality with low investment costs and short delivery times.
- The new Multilift Select 4 with a load capacity of four kilograms closes the gap between integral pickers and larger linear robotic systems. It is ideal for entry-level automation and is available now.
- The “ARBURG FlowPilot” for cold and hot runner moulds can be combined with temperature control units from various manufacturers. The new feature is available with a 4-way or an 8-way mould. This means the energy requirement of the temperature control units and the cycle time can thus be significantly reduced.
In high demand: Automation and turnkey
Another highlight was once again the “Automation and Turnkey” exhibition area. With integral pickers and linear robotic systems such as the Multilift Select 4 and six-axis robots, the entire spectrum from the low-cost standard product to the complex high-end solution was on display. Of particular interest among the dozen or so turnkey systems was the exhibit which – fitted with an integrated Multilift Select 6 and mobile cobot – produced and picked trays of fries. Visitors were also able to try out the simple programming of six-axis robots for themselves. Automated cube technology and production cells from customers further demonstrated Arburg’s high level of expertise and over 30 years of experience in the turnkey business.
Processing of recyclates and alternative materials
The processing of recyclates and alternative materials received a great deal of attention: Numerous sustainable injection moulding applications were presented, from puzzles made from paper fibres to pen holders with eggshells as filler and reusable lids made from recycled marine plastic. The two-component injection moulding of sunglasses made of thermoplastic and LSR, the production-efficient cube technology and the 256-cavity mould for LSR seals were also real eye-catchers.
From 3D printing to moulded parts in large-scale production
A special exhibition area was dedicated to the medical sector. Three exhibits, one of which was in a clean room, produced sustainable syringe plungers made from PLA based on corn starch, IML centrifuge tubes with integrated functions and material-optimised syringe plungers in large-scale production. The complete ARBURGadditive portfolio was presented about additive manufacturing: from the new Freeformer 550-3X, which processes standard granulates, to the TiQ 8 and LiQ 5 3D printers from innovatiQ for processing filament and LSR.
Service area: from “health check” to retrofit
The comprehensive after-sales range over the entire service life of machines and systems was presented in the service area. Here, visitors received numerous tips for flawless production and information on the complete portfolio – from technical service, “health check” and maintenance to retrofitting and software maintenance. Finally, visitors were able to gain an impression of the high level of vertical integration at Arburg on tours of the production facilities.
