Advanced Plastics Shortlisted for 2018 Plastics Industry Awards
Following their success at last year’s Plastics Industry Awards where they were handed the trophy for Best Training and Development Programme as well as reaching finalist position for Apprentice of the Year and Processor of the Year, Advanced Plastics have once again impressed the judges.
They have been selected as finalists in the 2018 Processor of the Year and Trainee of the Year categories.
According to Chris Pearson, Joint Managing Director of the Yorkshire based technical injection moulding company, their entry for Processor of the Year is based around “achieving overall business excellence.” This comes as a result of following a clear strategic business plan; sticking to core values and continuing to invest in people, technology and infrastructure whilst always striving to deliver the best in customer service.
This is evident in the business being on track to achieve its tenth successive year of growth with a strong forward order book as they enter new markets with a growing client base.
The entry for Trainee of the Year sees Kayleigh Bulman, a recent Hull and Humber Top 30 under 30 winner, nominated for her achievements as a Trainee Process Technician. Starting from grass roots level, Kayleigh has progressed to NVQ level 4 and is fully proficient in the process development of new injection mould tools and programming of six-axis robots. Outside of the workplace, Kayleigh is also at the top of her game representing England in Women’s Rugby League.
Rob Anderson, Joint Managing Director, remarked “Kayleigh is one of our many rising stars resulting from our widespread commitment to training and development and our policy of promotion within. We are not only proud of what our trainees achieve but the efforts our management team and more experienced members of staff put into mentoring and training them. Testament to Kayleigh’s ability, we recently nominated her to give a practical demonstration to a group of product design engineers who wished to broaden their knowledge of Injection moulding. She will also take her first business trip to China in August to establish the early stage process settings for a suite of new injection mould tools.”
The Advanced Plastics team wish all their fellow finalists the best of luck and are looking forward to the awards ceremony in September.
