Hardie Polymers Signs the Operation Clean Sweep Pledge

Hardie Polymers, a trusted UK-based distributor specialising in engineering polymers, has taken a significant step in its commitment to environmental responsibility by signing the Operation Clean Sweep (OCS) pledge. Established in 1924, Hardie Polymers has built a strong reputation for providing high-quality branded engineering polymers to industries across Europe and beyond. This latest initiative aligns with the company’s dedication to sustainable practices and responsible material management.

The Operation Clean Sweep program is designed to support material suppliers and processors in adopting strategies to prevent and reduce resin loss. By signing the OCS pledge, Hardie Polymers commits to implementing the foundational principles necessary to mitigate environmental impact and promote responsible handling of plastic materials.

The pledge requires Hardie Polymers to undertake several key actions, including:

• Assessing its current situation and identifying specific needs.
• Upgrading facilities and equipment as needed to prevent and address resin spills.
• Developing and publishing internal procedures to achieve zero resin loss.
• Providing employees with training focused on spill prevention, containment, cleanup, and disposal.
• Raising employee awareness and accountability by encouraging team members to sign a personal commitment pledge.
• Ensuring compliance with all applicable local and state regulations regarding pellet containment.
• Conduct regular inspections to enforce procedures and seek opportunities for continuous improvement.
• Participating in quarterly data reporting for OCS Core Metrics starting January 2025, further prioritising the elimination of resin loss.
