Plastribution’s managing director, Mike Boswell, has been awarded the prestigious British Plastics Federation (BPF) Gold Medal for 2024 at the BPF Annual Dinner, held on 10th October. The award, recognising outstanding service and dedication to the plastics industry, highlights Mike’s significant contributions and leadership within the sector.
Mike has served as group chairman of the BPF for an extensive period, a testament to his significant commitment and influence in the industry. In addition to this, he has held the roles of president and, most recently, honorary treasurer, further cementing his position as a key figure within the Federation. His leadership has not only shaped the Federation’s success but has also demonstrated his ongoing dedication to the growth and sustainability of the plastics industry.
The decision to award Mike the Gold Medal was supported by key industry figures, acknowledging his years of service and commitment. This recognition is well-deserved but by no means a lifetime achievement marker, as Mike continues to be an active and influential leader in the industry.
“My congratulations to Mike on the award of the BPF’s Gold Medal for services to the Federation,” commented Philip Law, the BPF’s director-general. “This is extremely well deserved and I could add further to the citation of qualifications by reference to the constructive dialogue Mike maintained with myself and other members of staff over many years. We have significantly benefitted from this, assisting our personal development.”
Outside of his professional achievements, Mike has recently found time to take on the challenge of climbing to the highest point in every county across England. His endeavours helped raise funds for both Mountain Rescue and Air Ambulance charities.
