Further Machinery Investment for the Plasticom Group
Kent-based toolmaker and injection moulded parts manufacturer, the Plasticom Group, has taken delivery of a new CNC milling machine, which will help the company manage a significant spike in recent new orders.
The latest machinery addition complements the suite of other CNC and sparking machines currently in operation at Plasticom’s site in Ashford, Kent.
The most recent arrival, a Spinner CNC milling machine, concludes a programme of investment in new machinery this year, which has already amounted to over £250,000, bringing the company to the forefront of its specialist market.
The new machinery will enhance Plasticom’s overall capacity and add greater flexibility to its machining process, which has become increasingly important in the current challenging global marketplace.
Plasticom has not only invested in capital equipment during 2020 but also in new personnel. Two new apprentices have joined Plasticom in recent months, one working within the company’s toolroom and another in the injection moulding facility.
“As well as investing in new equipment at Plasticom, to allow us to meet the ever-changing needs of our customers, we are also firmly committed to providing career opportunities for young people, as they represent the future of our business and our industry,” said Sonia Simmonds, Director of the Plasticom Group.
