Tripleplas Machinery Reaches Milestone 50th Anniversary
In July of this year, Rochester based Tripleplas Machinery Sales (TMS) celebrated 50 years in business. Once operating its own moulding shop and toolroom, the company now focuses on machinery sales, an area that has seen strong growth in recent years.
Tripleplas is very much a family run business, established by the present Chairman, Ralph Heddon in 1970, and now effectively run by his two sons, Steven and Peter.
The company has always been associated with the Plastic Industry and used to operate its own injection moulding shop and tool room, as well as a new machinery sales department. For the last 25 years, Tripleplas has focused predominately on the Machinery Sales side of the business, which has grown significantly. The company now offers ranges of machinery for injection moulding, blow moulding, rotational moulding and extrusion, amongst others.
Tripleplas has always specialised in the sale of high-quality Italian equipment. Director Steve Heddon commented:
“We have always been associated with Italian equipment throughout our proud history and are the UK’s sole representatives of the major Italian machinery manufacturers from various fields of the plastics processing sector.
“The first Agency we took on was with Plastimac Srl, Italy, who themselves were essentially a sales company for a comprehensive range of plastics processing machinery manufactured in Italy, but sold worldwide. The range included Injection Moulding, Film & Profile Extrusion, Bag Making and Ancillary equipment.
“Having the possibility of accessing the comprehensive portfolio available via Plastimac was a big advantage for Tripleplas and has allowed us to expand further and specialise in the sale of our current ranges of machinery and supporting equipment.”
