Investment in Aldona Provides Opportunity for Expansion

Aldona Products, a County Durham based manufacturer of bespoke compression and injection rubber moulded products, plans to upscale existing operations following its recent acquisition by the Accedo Group.

Aldona Products has unveiled plans to develop new technologies to support growth and new market entry following its recent acquisition by Accedo Group.

The Peterlee-based company, which manufactures a diverse range of bespoke compression and injection rubber moulded products, plans to scale up existing operations through investments in emerging new energy technologies.

The company is making significant investments in new equipment and technology to bring the business up-to-date and reduce emissions. New product offerings will complement the company’s existing, well-established range of hydraulic, pneumatic and rotary shaft seals that have been successfully used for over 30 years.

Aldona Products has also embarked on a programme of upgrading its infrastructure to better serve the needs of its existing client base, which includes heavy industry, original equipment manufacturers and significant partners for whom Aldona provide off-site manufacturing services.

Originally founded in 1988, Aldona Products was part of GT Group. The business was acquired along with Alpha Process Controls by Accedo Group earlier this year. Accedo Group is led by former GT Group sales director John Lamb, and Alpha Process Controls design manager Ben Richardson.

Ben Richardson, Director of Accedo Group, said: “Our strategy is to consolidate the services we offer for our core customers, while also designing and developing new technologies, which capitalise on their evolving needs and those of the emerging new markets that are driving them.”

John Lamb, Managing Director of Accedo Group, said, “Aldona Products is a well-established business, and we aim to build on the reputation the company already has for quality and innovation.  We recognise the potential to innovate and grow, and making these investments now gives us the infrastructure required to make this happen.

“The business has strong roots in North-East England, which is a region known globally for engineering excellence.  We are proud to continue the company’s association with the area with the ambition of generating more jobs and opportunities as a result of our investments.

“We are committed to supporting the manufacturing base in the UK, and we are confident that through Aldona Products, we will provide opportunities for future development and growth.”
