PCE GROUP Recognised with Queen’s Award for Enterprise 2020 for International Trade

The PCE GROUP has been awarded a Queen’s Award for Enterprise, in the category for International Trade, following three years of impressive export growth statistics to new markets such as Hungary, Costa Rica and the USA.

Since its inception in 1966, the Queen’s Award for Enterprise has recognised the outstanding achievements of British businesses. Currently, the award is split into four categories; International Trade, Innovation, Sustainable Development and Promoting Opportunity.

The PCE GROUP has been awarded the Queen’s Award for International Trade for outstanding short term growth in overseas sales over the last three years. With an existing customer base across the UK and Europe, new markets recently established include Hungary, Costa Rica and the USA. This has accounted for oversea sales growing by over 2000%, and the percentage of goods exported rising from 3.5% to 36% during this period.

As one of the largest manufacturers of automation solutions in the UK, the PCE GROUP of companies operate across a vast spectrum of sectors from fast-moving consumer goods and industrial manufacturing, to the ocular and medical sectors.

The group’s success in achieving this award underlines how they continue to disrupt new markets and territories, and how they continue to adapt to overcome unique challenges from their customers across the globe. PCE’s strong innovative mindset is underpinned by its rich research and development background; delivering solutions that offer ultimate levels of speed, accuracy, and quality.

James Cook, Managing Director of the PCE GROUP, commented: “We are very proud of our team at the PCE GROUP and to have such strength in depth when it comes to a complete in-house offering, from Mechanical, Electrical & Software Design, to CNC Manufacturing. We can offer all services project managed from within the group, contributing to greater results within shorter lead times for our customers.

“We also have a very strong sales and applications team for the formative stages of a project, who offer superb levels of customer service and an unwavering commitment to fulfilling and exceeding customer requirements; combining and researching the technologies to unlock ultimate levels of performance, efficiency and product quality.”

“We hope that our partners within our existing export territories (Europe, USA, Canada and the Americas) and those we have yet to disrupt, will view this award as a royal seal of approval and that the PCE GROUP and British Manufacturing can contribute on a global stage,” James added. “We further hope this will be the catalyst for creating new business relationships in our identified growth areas.”

PCE GROUP Quality Manager, Steve Mortlock commented: “Winning this award represents a tremendous personal achievement, but stands as an overall testament to our sustained investment in our people, our equipment and our infrastructure. These investments have helped us scale up at the right speed, at the right time, giving new and existing customers the confidence in our ability to meet their production demands.

“In turn, this has opened new opportunities in new territories.  We are a strong, highly skilled team from project design to delivery, who continue to push the boundaries of possibility and continue to strengthen our achievement of world-class, long-lasting solutions.”

Steve further acknowledged the unwavering support from the Suffolk Chamber of Commerce, New Anglia Local Enterprise Partnership and Department for Industry and Trade, with a special thanks to Stephen Banks of the DIT in Ipswich, for his valuable guidance.
