LVS Small Plastic Parts Secure Further Automotive Moulding Contract

Telford based LVS Small Plastic Parts have recently secured additional orders for components destined for the soon to be facelifted Range Rover Sport and Discovery models. 

Full production is due to commence in November ’17, with an estimated 64,000 sets per annum being produced.

As part of this ‘in-house’ project, the five associated production tools were designed and their subsequent manufacture managed by the LVS team.  Sample parts were then produced on machines in the 55 to 180 tonne range and full PPAP and CAP studies provided for their client.

LVS also designed bespoke packaging for transportation, this being via scheduled deliveries using their own fleet of vehicles.

All five components are associated with internal door assemblies.  As well as ‘A -surface’ door pull cups, downlighting components that help to illuminate the area are involved.  Some components are to be painted, LVS already having experience in supplying a number of plated interior cabin components for use in ‘high end’ vehicles.
